Meeting Mahi bhai after an international match is my dream: Dhruv Jurel

NEW DELHI: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has stated his expectation to see former India captain MS Dhoni as the fourth Test of the five-match series between India and England draws near. The series is presently 2-1 in favor of the hosts, thus both teams are quite interested in the next game.
In a video that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted on their social media account, Jurel expressed his respect for Dhoni and recalled their first IPL 2021 match.

“I was just observing him when I got up and wondered, ‘Is this MS Dhoni right in front of me?’” During my debut season in the IPL in 2021, I had my first conversation with him. I was pinching myself at the moment to be sure it was a dream. In a video that BCCI released, Jurel said, “My dream is to meet Mahi bhai, especially after the match, after an international game.”

With a composed 46 in the first innings, Jurel—who made his Test debut in the third Test at Rajkot—showcased his intriguing skill. “I always learn something new from him whenever we talk,” Jurel said, emphasizing the importance of his conversations with Dhoni.

Apart from his debut in Test matches, Jurel has an outstanding history in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League, where he has been a successful lower-order finisher with a lot of aggression. Jurel has played in 15 First-Class matches and scored 790 runs at an average of 46.47, demonstrating his reliability and ability to have a significant effect on the field.

In retrospect, the third Test was won handily by India thanks to their outstanding performance, which gave them a dominating 556-run lead in the second innings. The Three Lions lost by a margin of 434 runs when their attempt to chase a challenging total of 557 was thwarted. They were bowled out for only 122 runs.

Player of the Match went to Ravindra Jadeja for his outstanding all-around effort; Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Jasprit Bumrah all made significant contributions to India’s convincing win.
Cricket fans are looking forward to another exciting match between India and England as they count down to the fourth Test at JSCA International Stadium Complex on February 23. All eyes will be on the next game as both sides aim for series victory, with Jurel’s eagerness for his future contact with Dhoni heightening the suspense.
